TOWN OF CHILTON - Calumet County sheriff's deputies suspect that the driver of one vehicle involved in a two-vehicle crash just after 8 a.m. on Monday, October 25, may have been under the influence at the time.
The minivan driven by the 29-year old Kiel man was eastbound on County E when it failed to stop for the stop sign at E and State 57/32. and collided with a northbound tractor truck and semi-trailer.
The minivan driver may have been impaired.
The semi overturned onto its side and the minivan was on its roof when deputies arrived on scene.
Both drivers were injured but were able to get out of their vehicles. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Both the minivan driver and the 55-year old male driver of the semi - also from Kiel - were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Traffic was detoured over other roads for several hours to allow for cleanup at the scene.
The Calumet County Highway Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, the Chilton area EMS First Responders and the Chilton Fire Department assisted sheriff's officers at the scene.
