ASHWAUBENON - Prior to the WIAA announcing the cancellation of the state boys and girls' basketball championships due to the COVID-19 virus, Wrightstown punched its ticket to the would-be final against Lake Mills in a 62-54 win.

The Tigers outscored Lake Mills 36-18 in the paint, won the rebound battle 49-37 and shot 92 percent from the free throw line in the second half.

Leah Lemke played all 36 minutes and led the team with 24 points (10-17 shooting, 4-4 free throws) to help the Tigers fill the void left by senior Bridget Froehlke's unexpected injury sustained in practice days before the game.

Meghan Riha scored 11 points and Ella Diny scored 10.

Jade Pitta scored 18 points for Lake Mills.

The game was played in front of a sparse crowd at the Resch Center due to restrictions in attendance that the WIAA put on Thursday's games.

Wrightstown 30 32 - 62

Lake Mills 26 28 - 54

Wrightstown: Leah Lemke 24, Meghan Riha 11, Ella Diny 10, Jordan Vickman 8, Tatum Mierow 5, Samantha Kiel 2, Abby Radtke 2. Field goals: 26-63. Three-point field goals: 2-17. Free throws: 14-17.
