KIEL - The Brillion boys basketball team clinched the Eastern Wisconsin Conference championship with a 61-46 win at Kiel on Tuesday night.
The Lions are 21-0 overall and 12-0 against the conference. Kiel entered the game 19-2 overall and 10-1 in the conference. Brillion previously beat Kiel 66-46 at home on Dec. 20.
The Lions have been dominant this season. Their closest game in terms of point differential was a 14-point win at Valders on Dec. 15 (67-53). They have routinely won in blowout fashion and average more than 70 points per game.
The boys host Roncalli on Friday, Feb. 17, host Mosinee on Monday, Feb. 20 and travel to New Holstein on Thursday, Feb. 23 to wrap up the regular season.
It has been a successful winter sports season for Brillion. The girls basketball team clinched conference for the third season in a row, the wrestling team clinched conference for the fifth season in a row and the Brillion-Valders-Chilton co-op swim team won conference and last weekend qualified multiple swimmers for state.
