BRILLION – Brillion Mayor Mike Smith announced plans to seek another term.
“A lot has been accomplished in the last few years but there is still a ton left to be done,” Smith wrote in a Facebook post on Monday.
Smith, 34, has been mayor since he ran unopposed in spring 2021. He replaced the retiring Mel Edinger who was finishing the term for Gary Deiter, who retired with time left on his term.
Smith wrote in his post that he will be collecting signatures over the next few weeks to ensure that he is on the ballot in the spring. The spring election will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
The first day to file circulation of nomination papers was Dec. 1 and the final day for filing nomination papers is Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
So far, no one else has filed papers for the mayoral position.
