The Brillion girls basketball team wasted no time on Tuesday night jumping out to a big lead against Southern Door. The Lions won the regional quarterfinal game 62-32.
Amaya Brooks scored 18 points to lead Brillion. Emma Schuh added 17. Camden Hale scored 13. Claire Schuh (6 points), Kennadie Ott (6) and Kara Hedrich (2) also scored for the Lions.
No. 5 Brillion will now play at No. 4 St. Mary's Springs on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the regional semifinal.
Division 5
Elsewhere on Tuesday night, No. 11 Reedsville upset No. 6 Central Wisconsin Christian 65-63 in overtime. Freshman Brooklin Taddy scored the game-winning shot after Reedsville took the ball away from Central Wisconsin Christian near their own basket.
Reedsville had big scoring nights from multiple players including Kortney Dvorachek 21, Allena O'Connell 13, Mercedes Grimm 11, Kayla Bubolz 10 and Taddy 10.
It was Reedsville's first playoff win since 2021.
The Panthers will now play at No. 3 Oakfield on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the regional semifinal.
Lourdes Academy beat Hilbert 86-30 in another area regional game on Tuesday.
