Brillion schools to hold special meeting for COVID protocols proposal

BRILLION - The Brillion School District will hold a special meeting this coming Monday, Oct. 25, to discuss a proposal regarding the spread of COVID-19.

The proposal would see the schools consider the district's seven-day student and staff COVID-19 percentage to set and adjust masking and quarantine determinations based on the number of active case rate thresholds.

The proposal is being called 'Brillion Public School District's Situational Mitigation Measures Thresholds' by the district.

The district would monitor numbers daily, but use Thursday as of 1:00 PM as a snapshot to adjust protocols for each school (Brillion Elementary School, Brillion Middle School, and Brillion High School) for the following week of school.

BPS would communicate situational mitigation measure changes to parents, students,

and staff at the start of the day on Friday, under the proposal.

The district would have levels of low, moderate, substantial and high for each school. A high rate in the school or district would require mandatory masks regardless of vaccination status and contact tracing for any individual exposed to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.
