FISH CREEK - No. 1 Gibraltar Island/Washington Island beat No. 4 Reedsville 4-2 to clinch a WIAA Division 4 regional title on a picture-perfect spring afternoon on Thursday in Fish Creek.

The Panthers played well in the game but were unable to take a lead after the game was tied 1-1 after two innings. The Vikings scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning to break the tie and go ahead 4-1.

Reedsville got on the board when Ayden Sebo batted in a run in the second inning.

The Panthers scored their second run in the sixth. As Sebo hit a double, Nicholas VanDyke reached home plate following a Gibraltar/Washington Island error.

Reedsville had at least one runner left on base in all seven innings.

Levi Korstad handled pitching duties for Reedsville. The senior pitched well and he and the Reedsville defense forced Gibraltar/Washington Island into leaving their own runners stranded on base numerous times.

Reedsville beat No. 5 Rosholt 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon in the semifinal.

Gibraltar/Washington Island beat No. 9 Tigerton in the semifinal. Tigerton won at No. 8 Hilbert last Thursday.

Division 3

No. 4 Brillion lost at home to No. 5 Algoma on Wednesday afternoon. That game was also delayed one day because of the rainy weather on Tuesday.

Division 2

No. 6 Wrightstown fell at home 6-2 to No. 11 New Holstein last Thursday.
