BRILLION – Senior guard Owen Krepline was recognized as Eastern Wisconsin
Conference Player of the Year.
The award put the final exclamation point on one of the great seasons in Brillion history.
Krepline led Brillion to a 17-8 record while averaging 23.6 points per game. He also averaged 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.6 steals per game.
He scored 591 points on the season, which was the second-highest scoring season in Brillion boys history. The high mark put him at 1,016 career points.
Krepline made the most 3-point shots in a single season in program history with 65, surpassing Dan Miller's 59 in 1992-93. His 64 steals this season tied the single-season record (Luke Ott, 1995-96).
Krepline was named second-team all-conference as a junior. He was a member of the state championship team his sophomore year and the state tournament qualifying team his freshman year.
After he went over 1,000 career points, Krepline was appreciative of the community.
“The friends you make throughout all the years and all the fans and all the little kids that look up to you throughout the years,” Krepline told the newspaper. “It’s just real fun. The community is great, too.”
Naturally, with the conference player of the year honor, Krepline was a unanimous first-team all-conference selection.
Honorable Mention
Heath Cousin, a junior, was honorable mention all-conference.
Cousin had a productive year with nine points and nearly three rebounds, three assists and more than one steal per game.
