BRILLION - Two Brillion star basketball players made it official on Thursday.
Jeremy Lorenz and Megan Schuman both signed letters of intent to continue their basketball careers in college once they graduate from Brillion High School in the spring.
Lorenz will play at Wofford College in Spartanburg, N.C. A Division I school, Wofford has reached the NCAA Tournament five times since 2010.
Lorenz had been recruited by multiple D1 schools including UW-Green Bay, South Dakota State, St. Thomas and Toledo.
"I really had no idea which one I was going to go to," Lorenz said. "I could see myself at every one, but at some point I just had to weigh the pros and cons and decide which one I liked best."
Lorenz has scored 1,350 points through his first three seasons. He averaged 19.8 points per game last season, where the Lions reached the state semifinal game in Madison after the team beat Freedom to earn a sectional championship.
Schuman will play at Winona State University in Winona, Minn. She said playing in college has been a goal of hers.
"At the end of my freshman year, I was getting some looks already and I knew that this was something I wanted to do and it just kind of kept growing from there," Schuman said.
Schuman has scored 1,300 points through her first three seasons. She averaged 18.5 points per game last season. Schuman led the Lions to a regional championship over Oostburg. The team reached the sectional final game.
