Obituary: Alice Joan Uecker

Alice Joan Uecker, 88, Morrison, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, March 20, 2022, with family by her side. She was born February 11, 1934, in Morrison to the late Elmer and Esther Lawrenz.


Alice graduated from East De Pere High School. On October 24, 1953, she married Arwed Uecker at Zion Lutheran Church, Morrison. Alice worked in the office at Nabisco in Green Bay, before becoming a farm wife and mother. Throughout the years she held several offices in the Zion Ladies Aid, enjoyed singing in the choir, and attending bible classes. Alice enjoyed traveling, writing, crocheting, going out for lunch with friends, reading and playing games on her tablet. Above all Alice loved being a mom and Grandma and played many roles such as physician, referee, master chef, coach, counselor, and entertainer.

She is survived by children; David (Janice) Uecker, Glenn (Dori) Uecker, Melissa (Bill) Krueger, Eric Uecker, and Chris (Roger) Magley. Daughter-in-law Sue Uecker-Case, as well as her grandchildren; Amy, Heather, Steven, Jennifer, Adam, Amanda, Jeremy, Alicia, Brian, James, Rachel, Lauren, Brooke, Abby, Erin, Jordan, and 24 great grandchildren. Alice is also survived by her sister Karen (John) Heyn, and sister-in-law Sylvia Loppnow, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arwed, 3 children: Joan, Dan (Cathy), and Andy. Her grandson Ross Ambrosius, great granddaughter Samantha Rott, sisters Bernice (Jerry) Reidy and Lorna (Fabian) Smith, sister-in-law Margaret (Roland) Schultz, and brother-in-law Elmer Loppnow.

Friends may call after 9:00AM, Thursday, March 24th at Zion Lutheran Church, Morrison, until time of service at 12:00PM with Pastor Randy Ott officiating, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
