Allan Norbert Henseler, age 72, of Brillion, died October 26, 2020 peacefully at his home. On the very same day he passed away, he earlier had put his dog Drake down at 9:00 a.m.
Allan was born on September 14, 1948 in Two Rivers, son of Inez (Kraemer) and the late Edward Henseler. He was a graduate of Coleman High School, class of 1967. After graduation, he served our county in the United State Marine Corps from 07/07/1967 to 06/07/1971 during the Vietnam War. He lived by the motto, “once a Marine, always a Marine.” On November 1, 1975, Allan married Karen Boehmke at First Presbyterian Church in Oconto. He worked at Lakeside Packing for a time and then went onto to work at the Brillion Iron Works for 42 years before his retirement in 2010 for health reasons. He was a member of the American Legion Post 126 of Brillion, was a volunteer at St. Vincent’s in Hilbert for a short time, loved woodworking, gardening, and puzzles. Going up to Crivitz by himself was also a great joy. Allan went on the Old Glory Honor Flight specifically for Vietnam Veterans, as; well as spent time at Camp American Legion. He especially loved his family. Allan enjoyed food and sharing a good meal with them. And his family remember the times he would make them root beer floats after dinners.
Allan is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen; their children: Karla Henseler, Mark (Danielle) Henseler, Camille Henseler; grandchildren: Angel (Bryan) Fleming, Shawna Henseler, Aiden Behnke; great-granddaughter: Eden Fleming; his mother: Inez Henseler; siblings and their spouses: David (Catherine) Henseler, Stephen (Donna) Henseler, Margaret (Ken) Camlek, Nancy (Jeff) Mursau, and Thomas Henseler; other in-laws: William (Jeanne) Conrad, Janet Blakeney, and Stephan (Virginia) Boehmke; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Kenneth and Emma (Stephan) Boehmke, and in-law: Robert Blakeney and Jill Blakeney.
A Memorial Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes, 215 South Main Street, Brillion. Officiating will be Rev. Lin Wittmann. Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 126 of Brillion. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
