OBITUARY: Charles A. Richter

Charles A. Richter, age 71, of Brillion, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest on December 28, 2021 while vacationing in Jamacia.


Chuck was born on September 14, 1950 in Green Bay, son of the late Carl and Helen (Wunsch) Richter. He attended school in Brillion, graduating from high school on May 29, 1968. After graduation, Chuck worked at the Brillion Iron Works before enlisting in the United States Navy. Chuck served our country from April 1969 until February 1973. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era, receiving an honorable discharge as 3rd class E4 Engineman. Upon returning home, Chuck received his CDL license and drove semi for Chizek Transport for many years until his retirement. Even after retiring, he still drove semi for Rivers Edge Dairy doing seasonal work. Chuck also enjoyed hunting with this brother, brother-in-law, nephews, and cousin.

Chuck is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: Michael & Coreen of Sherwood; three sisters and brother-in-law: Carla Zander of Brillion, Cheri Nies of Brillion, and Carrie & Jeffrey Krueger of Potter. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Helen Richter, two brothers-in-law: Noel Zander and Dale Nies, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion. Military Rites will be accorded by the Becker, Bloedorn, Jenson American Legion Post 126 of Brillion. Burial will be at Brillion Community Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
