Dawn Johns, age 56, of Brillion, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025 at her home.

Dawn was born on February 24, 1968, daughter of the late Robert & Violet (Rosenbaum) McVey. She was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1986. On October 3, 1998, she married Doug “Stretch” Johns at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brillion. Dawn worked at Ariens Co for 24 years until her health prevented her from continuing. She and Stretch also owned and operated Wascomat and Spin Cycle Laundromats together. She also sold Paparazzi Jewelry. Dawn was so much fun, and often enjoyed shopping trips, raffles, and a drink with friends and family. She also loved her plants, her raised gardens that their son, Dawson made for her, Burger King trips, the family fish tanks, and having a good time. Above all, Dawn truly loved her family and being with them.
She is survived by her husband: Doug “Stretch” of 26 years; their son, Dawson; her siblings and in-laws: Gary (Gesine) McVey, Carol (Mike) Schuh, Shirley Kanter, Bryan (Anne) McVey, Brent (Dawn) McVey, Dick Buss, Ronald “Ron” Kuchenbecker, Denise (Brian) Tamm, Darrell (Mary) Johns, Doreen (Dan) Vondracek, Deana (special friend: George Marvin) Johns, and Darcy (special friend: Jim Pagel) Johns; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert & Violet McVey; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lowell & Shirley (Maertz) Johns; two sisters: Bev Buss and Sandra “Sandy” Kuchenbecker; in-laws: Dan Kanter, Mike Heimke, Debbie (Doug) Thiele; two nephews: Stephen Vondracek and Jamie Johns; her dog, Lucky; and other relatives.
Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Pielhop Funeral Home in Brillion.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
