Diane E. Svacina, age 80, of Reedsville, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc.
Diane was born on May 27, 1943 in Whitelaw, daughter of the late Robert and Elsie (Schambureck) Bennington. She was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1961. On November 11, 1961 she married Donald J. Svacina at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Whitelaw. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2004. Diane and her husband were the owners and operators of Swatzie’s Bar for many years. She was also employed by the Reedsville High School as a cook until her retirement in 1999. Diane was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Whitelaw.
Survivors include her three children: Lynn (Scott) Romenesko, DePere, Brian (Nicole) Svacina, St. Nazianz, Julie Svacina, Stevens Point; five grandchildren: Nicole (Nigel) Ordiway, Stephanie Coppens, Caleb (special friend Emily Drenovsky) Romenesko, Riley (special friend Kelsey Lieving) Romenesko, Emma Svacina; 3 great grandchildren: Sakkara, Aria and Ronin; and two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Lloyd (Yvonne) Svacina, Mosinee, WI, Marv Svacina, City Point, WI. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children: Michael and Cindy Svacina; two sisters: Carol Bennington-Kiel and Charlotte Olson; and two brothers-in-law: Norbert and Arnold Svacina.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Whitelaw. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Whitelaw, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
