Diane M. Sablich, age 81, of Brillion, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, February 24, 2024.
Diane was born on September 17, 1942 in Stambaugh, MI, daughter of the late Thomas and LaVerne (Begres) Bomaster. On February 13, 1965, she married Raymond E. Sablich at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gaastra, MI. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2020. In 1969, the family moved to Brillion for Ray’s job. Here, Diane was employed at Carstens Mill and later on, St. Paul’s Home in Kaukauna in the reception area until her retirement. Diane truly loved raising and spending time with her family, and was always caring for the people in her life. Her faith was very important to her and she had a great love of music and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Mom also enjoyed visiting with her mother and sisters while playing canasta.
Diane is survived by her four children: Mark (Connie) Sablich, DePere, Karl Sablich, Brillion, Nicholas (Jennifer) Sablich, Brillion, and Mary Sablich, Menasha; five grandchildren: Jamie Sablich, Kaitlynn Marciniak (Cody), Dustin (Elizabeth) Sablich, Claire Sablich, Grace Sablich; four great grandchildren: Emma Darcy, Myles Marciniak, Ethan Darcy, and Mila Stangel; one brother and sister-in-law: Don (Debra) Bomaster, Gaastra, MI; one sister: Adell “Dollie” Kasten, Shawano; and other in-laws: Mary Ann (Dan) Keating, Carbondale, CO, Barbara (Richard) Riordan, Sandy Springs, GA, and Ruth Sablich, Mason, MI; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister: Sister Maureen Bomaster; one brother-in-law: Bruce Kasten; one sister-in-law: Jackie Bomaster; and other in-laws: Joseph Sablich and Louis (Phyllis) Sablich.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Pomeroy and Deacon Greg Van Thiel. Cremation will take place following the Funeral Mass, and burial of her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River, MI at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
