Obituary: Donald Baer

Donald Baer, age 91, of Brillion, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Brillion Westhaven.

Don was born on September 17, 1931 in Hilbert, son of the late Michael and Winifred (Thissen) Baer. He was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1949. Don served our county in the United States Navy from 1951 – 1955. He married Judy (nee- Kamke) Jodar on May 19, 1990 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Brillion. Don worked at the Brillion Iron Works for over 40 years, retiring in 1993. He was member of the American Legion Post 126 of Brillion. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, and being outside. Don and Judy loved to travel together and spend time with family.

Don is survived by his wife: Judy; Judy’s children: Todd (Darla) Jodar and Terry Jodar, all of Brillion; grandchildren: Kaylee (Jason) Snell, MN and Trevor Jodar, Brillion; one sister: Dolores Hall of Eagle River; two sisters-in-law: Agnes Baer of Kaukauna, Rae Kamke, Maine; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother: Omer Baer; his brother-in-law: Gerald Kamke; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Rupert and Dorothy (Schultz) Kamke.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Pomeroy. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
