Edwin A. Spatchek, age 91, of Brillion, passed away Friday afternoon, April 14, 2023 at Brillion West Haven.
Edwin was born on September 29, 1931, son of the late Joseph and Delia (Kleiber) Spatchek in the Town of Maple Grove. He was a graduate of Brillion High School with the class of 1949. Edwin served in the U.S. Army from January of 1954 to December of 1955. On October 18, 1958 he married the former Angeline Kimmel at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Edwin was a farmer and also worked for the Brillion Post Office until his retirement in 1990. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and camping with his family. He also enjoyed traveling, growing poppyseed, picking mushrooms, reading and playing Sheepshead. Most of all, Edwin enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife: Angie; their six children: Jean (Tim) Oswald, Bob Spatchek, David (Doreen) Spatchek, Mark (Lois) Spatchek, Karen (Dennis) Kocourek, Amy (Daryl) Woldt; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Alice (Bob) Hardrath, Helen Baroun. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son; his siblings: Harold (Clara) Spatchek, Elmer Spatchek, Rolland (Ruth) Spatchek, Elaine (Ellsworth) Nienhaus, Josetta (Joe) Brey, Cecelia (Edward) Spurney, Mary Ann (Edward) Keller; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Harold (Sally) Kimmel, William Baroun and Jerome Tisler.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Pomeroy with burial to take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Reedsville.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
