Obituary: Helena Lynne Nies

Helena Lynne Nies, age 19, a Brillion resident, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 as the result of a motorcycle accident. 

She was born on July 18, 2005 daughter of Christopher and Jennifer (Schwarze) Nies. Helena graduated from Brillion High School in 2023. She enjoyed vacationing and traveling with her family, bonfires with friends, swimming in their pool, and lived life to the absolute fullest.  Her favorite hobbies were riding sport bikes, golfing with her sister, and snowboarding, but she also loved curling up with a good book or crocheting while watching a movie.  She was a free spirit with an adventurous old soul. Helena was able to make everyone’s day so much brighter.

Survivors include her parents: Chris & Jen Nies of Brillion; her sister: Cailey (fiancé Craig Gerrits) Nies of Wrightstown; grandparents: Cheri Nies of Brillion and Wayne & Gloria Schwarze of Kaukauna; aunts and uncles: Victoria (Tim) Giesseman of Appleton, Brian Nies of Brillion, Stephanie Schwarze of Kaukauna, Hannah Schwarze of Kaukauna; and her cousins: Josh (fiancé Alisha) Giesseman, Emily (special friend Dillon) Giesseman, Kaicin Nies-Carter, McKenzie (special friend Spencer) Schwarze, Kiara (Max) Jensen, and Karina Schwarze. She was preceded in death by her grandpa: Dale Nies. 

The family will greet relatives and friends at Christ the Rock Church in Menasha, from 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 20th until 5:45 p.m. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 20th also at Christ the Rock Church. Officiating the Memorial Service will be Pastor Peter Leschke.
