James A. Schreiber, age 87, a Brillion resident, peacefully passed away February 21, 2022 at Century Ridge, Chilton, after a short illness.
He was born on June 3, 1934 to Alfred and Evelyn (Schmieder) Schreiber. Jim went to Brillion High School, Class of 1952. He worked for the Brillion Bottling Company for a few years before serving our country in the United States Army. On July 5, 1958 he married the former Donna Ott and together they had 6 children. The couple farmed in their early years and Jim also worked at Brillion Iron Works until his retirement. Jim enjoyed doing crosswords, puzzles and playing cards. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife: Donna of 63 years; his three children: Dan (fiancé Darlene Alvarez) Schreiber, Manitowoc, Diane (Victor) Boeder, Brillion, Denise Peik, Menasha; six grandchildren: Donna (Keith) Dessart, William (Nedra) Boeder, Kristine Boeder, Timothy Boeder, Dawn Peik and Scott (Nikki) Peik; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and one great-great grandson due next month. Also surviving is a brother and sister-in-law: Gary (Arlene) Schreiber, Del Rio, TX and two sisters and a brother-in-law: Bonnie Dedering, Chilton and Sandi (Roger) Karls, Gillette. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons: Dale, David & Douglas; a sister, Betty and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harry & Irene Ott.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Ross Henzi & Rev. Philip Janisch with burial in the church cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the Becker Bloedorn Jensen Post #126 of Brillion.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brillion, from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 until 11:15 a.m. Online condolences may be made. The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
