James “Rabbit” F. Driessen, age 77, of Appleton and formerly Brillion, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2024.
He was born on January 7, 1947 in Appleton at Theda Clark to the late Frederick and Marion (Booth) Driessen. James was a boy scout in his adolescence and in his young adulthood, worked for the forestry planting trees in Wisconsin. He worked for many years as an inspector for Brillion Iron Works.
James loved to travel to many places such as: Las Vegas, Florida, and New Orleans. He was a diehard Packer fan during good time and not so good times! He was very sociable, often grabbing drinks after work at The Real Giese’s Bar, Bullwinkle’s Pub, or Shakers in Brillion. James had many friends in Brillion and loved working at Iron Works.
James is survived by his sisters: Catherine Leigh Driessen and Jean Hlavacek; niece Rachel Cabral-Guevara; nephew Justin (Sarah) Hlavacek; great niece; Marion Guevara, Cassandra Cottman; great nephews: Alejandro Guevara, Emilio Guevara, Lars Cabral, Noah Hlavacek, and Evan Hlavacek; and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by both of his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer to honor James and the adventurous life he lived. Future date and location will be posted at a later date.
