Jeanette A. Brandes, age 92, formerly of Maple Grove, currently of Manitowoc, passed away Monday evening, February 17, 2025 at The Gardens at Felician Village.

Jeanette was born on January 5, 1933 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Victor and Emma (Krueger) Sickinger. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On June 13, 1953 she married Louis Brandes at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Northeim. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2009. Jeanette began her career at the canning company in Brillion and later finished her career at Brillion Iron Works. She was a member of the Altar Society and Christian Mothers at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Jeanette enjoyed traveling and fishing in her younger years. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, knitting and crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her six children: Sr. Linda Brandes, Chassell, MI., Dennis (Kim) Brandes, Manitowoc, Annette (Greg) Guex, DeSoto, Cheryl (James) DeRoy, Rosamond, CA., Tim (Nancy) Brandes, Forest Junction, Gloria (Tom) Brandes-Kuptz, Bristol; nine grandchildren: Brian Brandes (fiancée Katie), Joseph (Jenny) DeRoy, Beth (Matt) Bromley, Steven Guex (significant other Alex), James (Tiffany) Brandes, Ryan Brandes, Erin Brandes (significant other Justin), Melissa (Ross) Ribeiro, Zachary Brandes; and eleven great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Mattilynn, Elliot, Grant, Brooke, Victor, Annabelle, Rachel, Billy, Tabitha and Maggie. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings: Bertha (Lawrence) Ciske, Donald (Marjorie) Sickinger, Gerald Sickinger, Catherine (Matthias) Muhowski, Robert (Elaine) Sickinger, Gene Sickinger, June Sickinger; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Luella (Harry) Zachowski, Elroy (Lorraine) Brandes, Bernice (Herman) Zastrow, Norman (Clarabelle) Brandes, Delores (Lawrence) Peik, Lester (Betty) Brandes, Ralph (Georgiana) Brandes, Leon Brandes, Geraldine (Elmer) Krueger.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Pielhop Funeral Home, Brillion, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service led by Deacon Greg Van Thiel will conclude the evening at 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue Friday morning, February 28, 2025 at church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Pomeroy and Deacon Greg Van Thiel. A luncheon will be held at church following Mass and entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum.
The Pielhop Funeral Homes of Brillion and Reedsville are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
