Lawrence R. “Sonny” Bratz, age 90, formerly of Reedsville, died Wednesday morning, May 18, 2022 at Brillion Westhaven.
He was born on May 8, 1932 in Reedsville, son of the late Adolph and Emma (Bubolz) Bratz. On November 26, 1955 he married the former Sarah Dallmann at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rantoul.
Sonny was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1956 – 1958. Sonny was employed for 36 years for the Manitowoc County Highway Department. He was a lifelong member of St. John St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville and a lifetime member of the Rockea Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years: Sarah; two sons and daughters-in-law: Gregory (Debbie) Bratz, Brillion, Dan (Cami) Bratz, Reedsville; his grandchildren: Amanda (Derrik) Kane, Rockwood, Angie (Josh) Eickert, Brillion, Danielle (Patrick) Brick, Sherwood, Taylor (Wes) Helgeson, Appleton; great grandchildren: Collin, Jackson, Ava, April, Jase, Kaiden, Landon, Norah and Jolie. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law: Betty Dallmann and Bernita Dallmann.
He was preceded in death by his siblings and in-laws: Sylvia (Elmer) Behnke, Luella (Everett) Wagner, Raymond (Florence) Bratz, Mabel (Lester) Buboltz, James Bratz, Theodore Bratz; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Henry Sr. and Emma (Last) Dallmann; and other in-laws: Hildegard (Elmer) Krueger, Carl Dallmann, Anita (Clarence) Haelfrisch, Madeline Dallmann, Wilbert Dallmann, Mildred (Victor) Watruba and Henry Dallmann Jr.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at St. John St. James Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsville. Officiating the Service was the Rev. Darin Aden with burial at St. John St. James Westside Cemetery. The family will greeted relatives and friends at St. John St. James Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsville, from 9:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 until 10:45 a.m.
