Mary E. Sheehy, age 69, resident of North Grimms, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, November 2, 2024 with her family at her side.
Mary was born in Maple Grove on August 7, 1955 to Donald and Gertrude (Rogala) O'Leary. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic School in Maple Grove and graduated with the class of 1973 from Reedsville High School. She was united in marriage to Roger "Herman" Sheehy on July 16, 1976. The couple was blessed with three children and thirty-one years of marriage. Herman preceded her in death January 10, 2008.
Mary was employed as a secretary with Miller's Supply of St. Nazianz for 47 years, retiring on July 31st, 2020. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed crocheting and time spent with her family. She was also a longtime volunteer for the "Friends of St. Patrick."
She is survived by her three children: Brenda (Dan) Peterson of Hubertus, WI, Gordy Sheehy (Becky Casper) of North Grimms, Tony (Taryn) Sheehy of Hartford, WI; her grand-puppies, Dexter and Donnie; and her "grandson", Gabe. She is further survived by her brothers & a sister: Kathy (Wayne) Nohr, Mike (Debbie) O'Leary, Bill (Kathie) O'Leary, Steve (Jeanne) O'Leary, Dan (Theresa) O'Leary, and Tim O'Leary; along with her brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Bill (Janet) Sheehy, Jean (Dan) Reetz, Bonnie (Russ) Pahnke, Donald "Shep" Sheehy (Julie Glasow), Darlene Sheehy (Jim Konecny), Linda (Ken) Kasper, Annette Sheehy, Gary Sheehy (Mary Dallmann), and Kim (Mark) Vine; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Gertrude O'Leary; husband, Herman Sheehy, father-in-law & mother-in-law, Gordon and Irene Sheehy; and by two nephews & one niece: Dustin O'Leary, Patrick Reetz, and Tara Reetz.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Thursday evening, November 7th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the St. Patrick's Historic Site (former St. Patrick's Catholic Church) in Maple Grove. The evening will conclude with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., led by Deacon Greg Van Thiel.
Visitation will continue Friday morning, November 8th, after 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Rev. Tom Pomeroy and Deacon Greg Van Thiel will preside at the funeral mass, with burial to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maple Grove.
