Paul Armin Stache died December 26, 2021.
He had a 9-month battle with stomach and pancreatic cancer. He was born on June 15, 1964 to Armin and Frieda (nee Maas) Stache on their Wedding Anniversary and he was proud of that.
As a child and young adult, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Rantoul. Then he went off to different Lutheran churches and studied their history. He also went to Hilbert High School.
In his life, he enjoyed his German History, and portraying Abraham Lincoln. He loved genealogy and even traced his own family tree back to Germany. He was a proud German who attended the Germanfest in Milwaukee for many years. Paul gave speeches as Abraham Lincoln on Memorial Day and shared his knowledge with everyone. He hosted Civil War re-enactments at the Portland Cemetery for years.
Paul is survived by his sisters, Shirley (Michael) Fischer of Fond du Lac, Wis., Gloria (David) Bodinger of Chilton, Wis., Arlene Bastian and her partner Gary Kroening of Brillion, Wis, and Connie (Paul) Karns of Greenville, Wis., four nephews; three nieces and six great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Paul also had a friend Michael DeBare who would chat and shared interests together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Armin and Frieda Stache; his brother Gerald Stache and his brother-in-law Paul Bastian.
Paul's wishes were to have a small gathering with his immediate family only and be remembered as he was. Especially with Wisconsin's winter weather and Covid.
He was laid to rest at Portland Cemetery in Chilton, Wis. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
