Obituary: Timothy “Tim” J. Christel

Timothy “Tim” J. Christel, age 60, of Reedsville, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at his home.

Tim was born on July 31, 1963 at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc, son of Darlene (Braun) Christel and the late Richard Christel. He was a graduate of Reedsville High School with the class of 1982. Tim transported cattle for Badgerland Cattle and also ran the family farm, Christel Dairy. On July 26, 2002 he married Ileana Maymir at St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. Tim always enjoyed having projects to work on and was a fan of Van Halen. He also liked to watch hunting videos and the America’s Funniest Home Videos. Tim enjoyed hunting trips as well as spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife: Ileana Christel; their children: Kenneth (Becca) Christel, Michael Link, Brian Link, Joseph (Brenda) Maymir, Jason Link, Nicholas Link, Caitlyn Link (special friend Hunter Renier), Ashlyn (Sean) Ehsani, Karalyn Bubolz, and Drake Christel; grandchildren: MyKayla, Kendra, Lillie, Alexis, Emerson, Isaiah, Isaac, Israel, Marcus, Cyrus, Koriana, Odin, Dominic, Myriana, Paisly, Jace, Waylon, Hayden; his mother: Darlene Christel; his siblings: Ric (special friend Lori Wiese) Christel, Jr., Jane (Lowell) Behnke, Patty (Al) Schreiber, Susie (Al) Smet, Sandy Christel, and Jeff (special friend Jeanine Danke) Christel; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Peggy (Ken) Dvorachek, Fred (Susan) Maymir, and Michael (Shawna) Maymir. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; one brother: Bill; mother-in-law: Myriam “Gabrielle” Maymir; father-in-law: Federicko Maymir; one brother-in-law: Henry Maymir, one sister-in-law: Jenny Christel, and great nephew: Jack Christel.

Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home of Brillion. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Ross Henzi.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m.
