Obituary: Virginia Levash

Virginia Levash, age 89, of Brillion, passed away on Monday afternoon April 7, 2025 at Brillion West Haven. 




Virginia was born on September 17, 1935 on the family farm in Hilbert, daughter of the late Raymond and Veronica (Micke) Jacobs. She was a graduate of Hilbert High School with the class of 1953. On October 3, 1956 she married Richard Levash at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2022. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. Virginia was a member of the Christian Mothers, Calumet County Homemakers Association and the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and taking trips to the casino. Virginia was an excellent baker and cook for her family and loved to babysit for her grandchildren. 

Survivors include her children: Joseph (Mary) Levash, Joan (Gary) Hartz, John (Sheri) Levash, Jerome (Tracey) Levash; grandchildren: Jason (Amy), James (Chelsea), Ashley (Matthew) Rusch, Lindsey Hartz (fiancé Corey Ebben), Nathan (Vanessa), Chris (Emma), Shawana (James) Kiesow, Whitney (Christopher) Meza, Carissa (Cody) Schultz, Monique (Donovan) Nelson, Brent; great grandchildren: Jacob, Jackson, Jamie, Piper, Gemma, Cecilia, Emma, Carsen, Myles, Aria, Caleb, Hadley, Dawson, baby Levash, Natalie, Johnlee, Ellianna, Beau, Blake, Riley, Caden, Dane and Dierks; two brothers: Joe (Ceil) Jacobs, Ken (Debbie) Jacobs; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Ralph Karls and Bev Jacobs. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson: Jeremiah; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jim and Kate (Wittmann) Levash; her siblings: Roger (Darlin) Jacobs, Robert (Carol) Jacobs, Hillard Jacobs, Anna Marie (Pete) Lexum, Rosemary Karls, Dorothy Jacobs; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Alma (Austin) Doberstein, Hildegard (Ed) Schreiber and Bud Levash. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Pomeroy and Deacon Greg Van Thiel. Burial will take place following the Mass at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. 

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
