The Panthers are within one game of a trip to the WIAA state tournament.

Reedsville beat Lourdes Academy 50-37 in the sectional semifinal on Thursday night in Pulaski after evaporating a 9-point halftime deficit. The Panthers outscored Lourdes 28-6 in a dominant second half.

Senior Camden Dvorachek finished the game with 19 points and 15 rebounds. Ben Prochnow scored 14 points and had five assists. Other scorers were Logan Maertz 9, Arden Strenn 6 and Gavin Dvorachek 2.

The Panthers will play fellow top-seed Almond-Bancroft on Saturday night in the sectional championship at 7 p.m. at Hortonville High School.

Almond-Bancroft is 26-1 overall this season and beat Three Lakes 64-52 in the sectional semifinal. They are led by longtime head coach Curt Lamb.

Three players have averaged double figures for Almond-Bancroft this season – Ayden Phillips (25.0 PPG), T.J. Lamb (18.1 PPG) and Brody Dernbach (10.6 PPG).

The Panthers are in their third season with Ron Prochnow as head coach. They clinched a regional title all three years. This is the first season they've reached the sectional final.

A sectional championship would clinch the first trip to the state tournament for the Panthers since the legendary 1946 team that won the state title. Almond-Bancroft is seeking its first state tournament appearance.

The Division 5 state tournament semifinal games are the morning of Friday, March 15, at the Kohl Center in Madison.
