REEDSVILLE - With starting quarterback Parker Maney out with injury, sophomore Ben Prochnow took the role and led the top-seeded Panthers to a 21-6 victory against Loyal in a WIAA Level 1 playoff game on Friday night.

Prochnow and Camden Dvorachek connected for a 55-yard touchdown in the second quarter to put Reedsville ahead 7-6. On the first possession of the second half, Prochnow found a wide open Dvorachek for another long touchdown (54 yards) to put Reedsville ahead 14-6.

Dvorachek scored on a 30-yard run in the fourth quarter to put the Panthers up two touchdowns.

The Reedsville defense held Loyal scoreless after the game's first possession. Loyal completed a 17-play 7 minute, 15 second drive to go up 6-0 but never again reached the end zone after the Panthers made adjustments on defense. Ayden Sebo intercepted two passes for the Panthers.

The Panthers will host Cambria-Friesland in the Level 2 playoff game on Friday night at 7 p.m. Cambria-Friesland is 7-3 overall this season and beat Iola-Scandinavia 24-22 in their Level 1 playoff game. Maney is expected to return for that game.

Complete coverage of the Level 1 playoff game will be featured in the Oct. 26 print edition of The Brillion News.
