Silver Creek Bridge to close

There will be an on-line presentation on Tuesday, March 22, about the project to replace the State 42 Silver Creek Bridge.

MANITOWOC - The state Department of Transportation has announced the replacement of a State 42 bridge beginning in June of 2022.


The DOT will host an on-line information meeting on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. to discuss replacement of the State 42 bridge over Silver Creek just south of U.S. 151 in the city of Manitowoc, in Manitowoc County.

Work is expected to begin after June 15, 2022.

Project staff will share construction details, staging, schedule, traffic and detour information, and resources for businesses in the work zone. The meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams.

This is a bridge replacement project and includes a full closure and detour of State 42 traffic at the bridge.

The website includes maps of the project limits and locations, scope and schedule, traffic impacts, displays and exhibits. There is also temporary business signing information for businesses in the work zone and detoured portion of 42.
