TOWN OF MISHICOT - A 48-year old Manitowoc man was killed Wednesday, October 27, when he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding.

It happened about 1:45 p.m. on State 147, two miles south of Mishicot, just north of Sturm Road.

Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig said Ryan Nagy was alone on his 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and was northbound, passing another vehicle, when he lost control and went into the west side ditch.

The motorcycle overturned and Nagy was thrown from it. Efforts to save his life took place at the scene, but were not successful.

Manitowoc County Coroner Curt Green indicated that Nagy suffered a high spine fracture and other traumas.

Toxicology reports are pending. The crash remains under investigation

Assisting Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office deputies and the Manitowoc County Coroner's Office at the crash scene were the Mishicot Ambulance, Mishicot Fire Department, Mishicot Police, Two Rivers Ambulance, Brown County Sheriff's Office, the Manitowoc County Highway Department, and PK's Towing. The emergency response was coordinated by the Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch Center.

"On behalf of our Sheriff's Office, I would like to offer our deepest condolences to all those affected by this tragic incident," Hartwig said.
