GREENLEAF – Plans by the state Department of Transportation to reconstruct State 57/32 from Man-Cal Road north to the north side of Greenleaf will be the focus of two meetings – one on July 26, the other on August 1. Both will be held at the Town of Wrightstown municipal building, 1527 Day Street, in Greenleaf.

Town officials from the towns of Brillion, Holland and Wrightstown will meet together at the Wrightstown Town Hall, 1527 Day Street in Greenleaf, on Thursday, July 26, at 5 p.m. to discuss coming upgrades to State 57/32. The meeting is open to the public, but is not a public meeting.

That meeting is basically intended to promote dialogue between the state DOT and the towns prior to the public involvement meeting on Wednesday, August 1, at 5 p.m.

The August 1 meeting is hosted by the DOT and it seeks public input as the project is planned out. According to DOT regional communications manager Mark Kantola, the proposed project would resurface 6.8 miles of State 57/32 and upgrade the intersections at Hill Road (Brown County Z) and Man-Cal Road, the Brown-Calumet county line road.

The intersections of 57/32 at Wayside Road and Hill Road have been the scene of fatal crashes within the last five years.

Cross culvert and box culvert work is also scheduled as a part of the project, which is tentatively scheduled for 2025, but could be moved up to 2021.
