The road to the state tournament in boys basketball started this week with regional games. Sectional games are next week Thursday, March 9, and Saturday, March 11.


Division 3


Brillion won a regional championship for the third season in a row with wins against Chilton and Kiel.



#6 Wrightstown beat #11 Wittenberg-Birnamwood 74-53 on Tuesday night. The Tigers started the second half on a 20-5 run. Jack Hermann and Marshal Edinger each scored 21 points. They lost 56-47 to #3 Northland Pines on Friday night in the regional semifinal.


Division 5


#5 Reedsville beat #12 Chesterton Academy 88-29 on Tuesday night. Zach Dvorachek scored 27 points with five made 3-point shots, six assists and five steals. Camden Dvorachek had 19 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. The Panthers beat #4 Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy on Friday night and Oakfield on Saturday afternoon to win the regional title.



#10 Hilbert won at #7 Lourdes Academy 57-48 on Tuesday night. Kaelin VandenWyngaard scored 20 points to lead Hilbert. Julian Steffes scored 14 points. Logan Lau chipped in 13. The Wolves advanced to play at #2 Heritage Christian on Friday night, where they lost 83-46.
