WIAA regionals: Hilbert girls advance; Reedsville eliminated

After winter weather postponed Tuesday's action, two area girls' basketball teams competed in Division 5 WIAA regional games on Wednesday night.

Seventh-seed Hilbert beat tenth-seed Cambria-Friesland 52-40 at home.

Emmery Wiese scored 16 points to lead the Wolves. Meghan Propson chipped in 14 and Laney Halbach added 11.

The Wolves will travel to play second-seed Oakfield in the regional semifinal on Friday night.

Ninth-seed Reedsville lost narrowly to Hustisford, 56-50. Eighth-seed Hustisford advanced to play top-seed Randolph on Friday night.

Division 3

Top-seed Brillion hosts Sheboygan Falls on Friday night. The Lions beat their conference foe 60-28 on Dec. 9 and 45-33 on Jan. 28.

Fourth-seed Wrightstown hosts fifth-seed Peshtigo on Friday night.

The bracket culminates with the state tournament on March 10-12 in Green Bay.
